International Day of the Girl Child
Every October 11, we celebrate International Day of the Girl Child. At Uganda for Her, we think October 11 is one of the best days of the year! International Day of the Girl Child is all about celebrating girls for all that they are and all that they will become, as well as continuing to work to make the lives of girls all around the world better. This year on International Day of the Girl Child, we are busy at one of our bi-weekly outreach workshops, teaching young women and men about menstruation, sexual and reproductive health, and in older classes, HIV prevention. We hope that you take today to celebrate the Girl Child and look for ways that you can take action in your own lives and the lives of girls all around the world!
